Money. Specifically, money that should be in your pocket.

One of the sexiest topics in the home-based business industry has been and always will be the idea of making money online.

Whether it’s providing information products, selling courses, or promoting as an affiliate, building an MLM, it can be a very lucrative way to make your living.

And even better, it often comes with the coveted aspect of freedom.

The freedom to work where you want, when you want, and in many ways, make what you want.

When I started in this industry back in 2013, I was sold on the idea that it would be easy.

Over the years, I have learned that it’s definitely not easy.

At least, it wasn’t for me. I had confidence issues to overcome. I felt left alone on an island. I had no team and my upline didn’t want anything to do with me.

For the next 2 years, I was on my own — which made me into the mentor I wish I had.

While making money online can be an excellent way to live the life of our dreams, there are many myths around it that I want to cover in this mini blog series.

Overcoming these common myths is the first step to being able to crush it online.

Follow along while I uncover the truth to these common myths and why or how knowing the truth can benefit you…

Myth #1– Making Money Online is Easy

These days, more and more people have been turning to the Internet to earn an income online.

Maybe you’ve even thought about putting something together so you can get a slice of that “make money online” pie.

After all, how hard can it be to slap an ebook or two together, toss up a landing page, and watch the sales come in by the droves?

Well now, let’s hold onto our Batman belts. (I mean, everyone has one of those… right?)

This brings us to the first myth of the Home-Based Business: Making money online is easy.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your view), making money online is not an easy process.

People who get wide-eyed and overly excited at the idea of getting into this amazing industry to make money often seem to forget one thing: It’s still a business.

This means that it is no easier to build an online business than it is to build an offline one.

In fact, in some respects, making money online in the home-based business industry can be even harder than making it offline.

How so? Nowadays, it takes a lot more exposure, trust, and “convincing” for a home-based business owner than a new brick-and-mortar store to open up.

Not to sound contradicting, even though it’s not necessarily easy, making money online can be simple.

Building an online empire, or even just making a few bucks on the side, comes down to…

Having These Few Things In Your Batman Belt

The first one is obvious where it really goes without saying: you have to have something to sell.

Next, are you connected with a supporting community? I’m not talking about a large company community but rather more on a personal level — a team of people from who you can bounce ideas back and forth from.

I got sick and tired of feeling left alone from not having access to a team community for my first 3 years, so I created one.

Thirdly, do you have the right tools and systems that support your daily marketing needs — especially when it comes to automation?

Because in this industry, it’s important to have leverage so you can spend more time doing the things that are important to you.

Yes, those things you’re thinking about right now.

Next, it would be a good idea to have access to amazing courses, content, and training that supports your marketing plan.

How many training courses have you purchased so far …and how many have you actually finished?

I’m not here to call you out or make you feel guilty. Because I think we have all bought more training to last a lifetime and have finished only a few.

Just like you, I have invested thousands of dollars over the last (almost) 7 years on home-business training and traveling to seminars.

But don’t let all that training just sit there! Go through them, take notes, and put them to the test!

The “hard” part is putting in the time and effort as well as a focus on providing quality, which had never been more important than ever.

The “simple” part requires you to take action TODAY and find and follow a proven system.

The money will sure to follow.

Lastly, no matter what, you should always be lining up your next sale.

Don’t ever let your project “end” without making an offer to begin another one.

Don’t ever let someone “buy” and then be done. And if you don’t have anything more to sell them, then perhaps you should.

Perhaps this is where your digital product or course comes in handy — it doesn’t take any more time out of your schedule, but provides extra value, should your audience and customers want to take you upon it.

Or the reverse is true: if you’re already selling digital products, you can take it as an opportunity to add more $$$ to your bottom line by offering an add-on to consult.

Or you can get really creative and offer other people’s products as an affiliate, after any sale.

The point is, no sale should be a stand-alone sale if you can help it. Without also offering to take it away

This, my beautiful badass, is how money is made.
